WICK COUNTRY PARK WILDLIFE SIGHTINGS - January 15th 2025
Our first walk of 2025 took place on the 15
th January. A cool, cloudy day and while the temperature was around 9oC, there was still ice on the pond. Lots of Blue and Great Tits in the park at the moment and they look to have had a good breeding season
in 2024. Only a few Robins about though and they are being rather quiet at this time. It was nice to hear/see both Woodpeckers, with all of us managing to get good views of a nicely perched Great Spotted Woodpecker. Also good to see a Song Thrush feeding and its
cousins Redwings in the park. Overall, a good start to the year with 27 bird species seen plus our usual Grey Squirrel! Full details are below:
